Attrevo Documentation
Everything you need to install Attrevo, connect your revenue, and read your attribution with confidence.
Getting started
Attrevo answers one question: which marketing actually made you money. Three things get you there.
1. Install the snippet
Copy your snippet from Settings → Tracking and paste it immediately before the closing </body> tag on every page of your site.
<script async src="https://api.attrevo.com/snippet/YOUR_TENANT_ID/attrevo.js"></script>Load any page on your site afterwards. Within about a minute the first touchpoint appears on your dashboard.
2. Connect Paystack
Go to Integrations → Paystack and paste your secret key. Attrevo pulls your transactions and matches each one to the marketing that produced it — by email first, then phone number.
3. Read your first attribution
Open Attribution. Once you have at least one touchpoint and one matched payment, revenue starts appearing against channels. Expect meaningful patterns after roughly two weeks of traffic.
Dashboard guide
The dashboard is your daily view. The KPI cards across the top read left to right as a funnel.
| Card | What it means |
|---|---|
| Attributed revenue | Naira Attrevo could trace back to a marketing touchpoint. Lower than total revenue — that gap is your unattributed revenue. |
| Leads | Identified people, not anonymous visits. |
| Attribution coverage | Share of revenue with a known source. Under 60% usually means the snippet is missing from some pages. |
| Top channel | Highest attributed revenue for the selected date range. |
Switching attribution models
The model selector re-splits the same revenue by a different rule. Nothing is recalculated or lost — switch freely. If a channel looks strong under first touch but weak under last touch, it starts conversations rather than closing them.
Leads and revenue
A lead is a person Attrevo can identify — usually because they submitted an email or phone number. Before that they are an anonymous visitor tied to a pseudonymous ID.
Open any lead to see their customer journey: every touchpoint in order, with source, medium, campaign and timestamp, and any payments matched to them.
How revenue gets matched
- Email match — the payment email equals a known lead email. Most reliable.
- Phone match — normalised to +234 format first. This matters in Nigeria, where a WhatsApp number is often the only identifier you get.
- Unmatched — payment recorded but not attributable. Shows in total revenue, not attributed revenue.
Campaigns and the UTM builder
Attribution is only as good as your tagging. The UTM builder under Campaigns produces consistent links so "Facebook", "facebook" and "FB" do not become three different channels.
| Parameter | Use | Example |
|---|---|---|
| utm_source | Where the click came from | google, facebook, whatsapp |
| utm_medium | Type of traffic | cpc, email, social |
| utm_campaign | The specific push | december-sale |
Pick one convention — lowercase, hyphens, no spaces — and keep to it.
Integrations
Revenue can arrive from several places at once, and Attrevo de-duplicates across them.
- Paystack — paste your secret key. Historical transactions are imported, then new ones arrive by webhook.
- Flutterwave — same flow, using your Flutterwave secret key.
- Selar — for digital products and courses; connect with your Selar API key.
- HubSpot — pulls closed-won deals so offline and sales-led revenue is attributed too.
Keys are stored encrypted, never in plain text, and can be rotated or disconnected at any time.
Attribution models explained
Say a customer clicks a Google ad, later opens your email, then buys after seeing an Instagram post — and pays ₦100,000. Each model splits that ₦100,000 differently.
| Model | Split | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| First touch | ₦100,000 to Google | You want to know what creates awareness. |
| Last touch | ₦100,000 to Instagram | You want to know what closes. |
| Linear | ₦33,333 each | You believe every step contributed equally. |
| Time decay | Most to Instagram, least to Google | Short sales cycles where recency matters. |
| U-shaped | 40% Google, 40% Instagram, 20% email | You value the first and last steps most — a sensible default for considered purchases. |
There is no correct model. If a channel earns credit under every model, it is genuinely working; if it only looks good under one, treat that with suspicion.
Campaign Intelligence
Attrevo runs seven diagnostics across your campaigns and reports what is wrong, not just what happened. Findings are ranked Critical, High or Medium.
- Spend with no conversions — money out, nothing back. Usually the fastest saving available.
- Dead traffic — visits arriving but no leads. Normally a landing page or offer mismatch, not a targeting problem.
- Negative ROAS — the campaign costs more than it returns.
- Single-touch dependence — revenue resting on one channel, which is fragile.
- Declining trend — performance falling week on week while spend holds.
- Outperformer — converting well above your average. Scale it.
- Attribution gap — revenue Attrevo cannot trace, usually a missing snippet.
AI assistant
The assistant answers questions about your own data in plain language. It reads your attribution, campaigns and revenue — never another customer's.
Questions that work well:
- "Which campaign should I scale this week?"
- "Why did revenue drop last week?"
- "What is my best channel for high-value customers?"
Answers cite the numbers behind them. Treat it as a fast analyst, not an oracle — check the figures before moving budget.
WhatsApp reports
A performance summary at 7:00 AM Lagos time every day, covering yesterday's revenue, leads, top channel and any new critical diagnostics.
Enable it under Settings → Notifications: add your number in international format (+234…) and switch on WhatsApp reports. Your number is stored masked.
Settings and billing
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card required. A banner appears in the app once fewer than seven days remain.
| Plan | Monthly (VAT inclusive) |
|---|---|
| Starter | ₦53,750 |
| Growth | ₦161,250 |
| Enterprise | Custom |
All prices include 7.5% VAT. Every payment produces a tax invoice under Settings → Billing. Cancelling stops renewal at the end of the current period.
NDPR and data privacy
When you track your own visitors you are the data controller and Attrevo is your data processor. That means some duties sit with you.
- Keep the consent banner enabled. Tracking is withheld until a visitor accepts, and every decision is recorded with a timestamp.
- Publish a privacy notice on your own site explaining that attribution tracking happens.
- Handle data subject requests within 30 days. Use Settings → NDPR to look up, export or erase everything held about a person.
Tracking data is deleted automatically after 12 months by default. See the NDPR Compliance page for the full division of responsibility.
